Compact Welding Cell

Up to four robots can be included in the OmniVance FlexArc Compact welding cell without altering its structure. The ready-to-deploy, modular cell incorporates robots, controllers, software, peripherals and other components into one simplified, welding-specific cell. At 14.3 square meters, it is the smallest arc welding cell in its class. Its 45-degree gantry robot mount design maximizes the robot’s working parameters by placing it in the center of a three-axis turntable, bringing it closer to the workpiece.

The software suite enables engineers to collect and analyze data to refine performance and improve decision-making and welding efficiency by visualizing production data against key performance indicators. Autonomous mobile robots, material handling equipment and inspection equipment can be integrated with the cell.

Linear Servo Press

Beckwood’s Linear Servo Press (LSP) combines the flexibility of hydraulic presses with the performance of electromechanical presses. The technology requires no crankshaft, counterbalance, flywheel, centralized lubrication or hydraulic power unit. As a result, the press does not require scheduled maintenance for millions of cycles. The LSP can be used in a variety of applications, including compression molding and metal forming.

Operating parameters, including speed, force and ram position, are fully programmable, allowing for control with flexible recipe creation but strict part traceability, tonnage monitoring and overload protection to increase die life.

The model LSP-250-3660 on display at Fabtech provides up to 250 tons of force rated anywhere in the stroke via an all-electric actuation system with two linear servo actuators. The forming area measures 36 by 60 inches.

Generators

The Eco Line EEi² series of generators are used in induction heating applications, such as hardening, preheating and brazing. An intuitive touchscreen interface displays the main parameters of the induction process, such as power, frequency, current, voltage and temperature, with clear bar charts and percentage values. Menu items along the sides give users access to setup options and additional information. For instance, there are eight timers, each with running times ranging from 0.1 to 9,999 seconds, and storage space for managing up to 500 recipes.

Siemens control technology ensures effortless connection to higher-level Siemens control units. Quality control modules (eQC) are integrated into the generators for greater production reliability. For example, eQC Flux measures the actual voltage at the base of the inductor. This can warn assemblers if a component isn’t positioned correctly or if the inductor is damaged. This data can also be used to precisely monitor component heating.

Models are available with continuous power ratings ranging from 5 to 150 kilowatts (MF version) or 5 to 75 kilowatts (HF version). The generators are virtually maintenance-free and feature single or multiple outputs

Medium-Payload Robot

The RS013N six-axis robot has a 13-kilogram payload capacity and a 1,460-millimeter reach. Positional repeatability is ±0.03 millimeter. It has a small footprint and a flexible, IP67-classified design. A new arm structure and a lighter main unit enable the robot to travel at high speeds within a large working area. The robot’s internal Ethernet wiring enables easy connection to a vision system or other peripheral devices. The robot can be mounted to the floor, ceiling or wall.

Entry-Level Laser Welding Machine

The TruLaser Weld 1000 is an entry-level laser welding system for smaller companies and job shops that weld products such as electrical cabinets, sheet metal boxes and covers. Its divided work area allows a part to be welded on one side while an operator loads or unloads on the other. Programming is accomplished by manually guiding the robot along the weld seams and pressing a button to mark waypoints. The software then automatically creates the program. A six-axis robot enables the system to move faster and more precisely than standard collaborative robots, resulting in high-quality weld seams.
